Inside view, note the circular moving coil which rotates around a spherical magnetic core
I was given two of these meters which
formed part
of
a collection of many instruments collected by Bob Evans by his
daughter Alice Kirby. They both have o-120 mV movements. The one shown
above has a thermal junction which gives a full scale reading of 12
Volts and may be used for measuring the RMS value of AC or DC voltages.
This is a more modern version of the other Unipivot laboratory
instruments elsewhere on this site (here
and here). Like its predecessors it
is intended to be used with a range of accessories as indicated on the
diagram shown here.
Working. Cambridge Instrument Company Ltd,
UK, date probably mid 1950s (I have instruction booklet dated
1954)
