Elliott Brothers Resistance Bridge

I was given this meter which formed part of a  collection of many instruments collected by Bob Evans by his daughter Alice Kirby. It was in a sorry state but functional with the exception of two open circuit resistors 1000 ohms an 10,000 ohms on the R1 and R2 switch banks (top left on underside view) and the pushbutton key which refused to move. The left hand empty compartment should have housed a centre zero meter and a 4.5 volt flat battery. Apart from freeing the pushbutton and soldering in two replacement resistors, I have cleaned and polished the box and made a replacement handle. I guess this was probably made in about 1930. I found the image shown below of a similar but apparently earlier (and more simple) model elswhere on the internet.
