This is a very well known Sony (first manufactured in 1959) and one of the better early transistor radios. It was very popular in the early 1960s and many copies of this radio came on the market. Unusually it has a tuned RF stage and a 3 gang variable tuning capacitor. The receiver and the LF amplifier are connected together via a removable link located inside adjacent to the volume control.
